Welcome to JAXA DNS Database site! This website is a portal to open representative turbulence statistics obtained from direct numerical simulations (DNSs) in wall-bounded turbulent flows.

Turbulent channel flow
A series of direct numerical simulations (DNSs) have been performed in a turbulent channel flow with / without passive scalar transport over a range of Reynolds and Prandtl numbers.

Turbulent separation bubble
Direct numerical simulations (DNSs) have been carried out in a turbulent boundary layer (TBL) with separation and reattachment with focus on the effect of Reynolds number.

Skewed turbulent boundary layer
A series of direct numerical simulations (DNSs) have been performed in a non-equilibrium three-dimensional turbulent boundary layer (3DTBL) over a flat plate. Particular attention is given to the effects of cross flow and Reynolds number.

ZPG turbulent boundary layer
We have also performed DNSs of a zero-pressure-gradient (ZPG) turbulent boundary layer (TBL). The latter data are used as the inlet and comparison data for DNSs of a turbulent separation bubble and a skewed turbulent boundary layer.
